DAYS OF GRATITUDE: Day 14: RAINY SUNDAYS and AFTERNOON NAPS

The Carpenter's are half right when they say that "Rainy days and Monday's always get me down"  - the Monday part is a no brainer - as who likes to stop the weekend? But the rainy days... I welcome them - each and every one!

Residents of Seattle would most likely disagree with me (as my sister complains so often) but I LOVE hearing the raindrops as they pound the roof!  I love the gray color of the sky as the clouds move in. I love the excuse the rain gives to put off running errands and stay in doors.  I love the very idea of grabbing the biggest, softest quilt and snuggling with the ones you love.  I love the quiet moments the rainy day brings that makes you want to have a movie marathon or grab your favorite book!  I love that rainy, cold days encourage crock-pot cooking and steaming hot cups of hot chocolate! 

And yes, oh yes... let's not forget that the opportunity to take that highly coveted, much deserved afternoon nap! There's nothing as inviting as staying the pj's and laying your head on the pillow  - whether for 2 minutes or 2 hours... sleep is blissful when you can hideaway within the confines of your home and hear only the sounds of drip, drop, drip as you carry yourself off to dreamland.
